The Lamu County Government has announced a mandatory training session for all registered suppliers on the new Government Electronic Procurement System (e-GP).
The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the National Treasury, seeks to equip suppliers with the knowledge and skills to effectively participate in the digitised procurement process.
The training will take place on Thursday, 21st August 2025, at the Command Center in Hindi, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Suppliers are required to send at least one representative, accompanied by a laptop and all relevant registration documents.
According to the county government, the training is a prerequisite for continued participation in tenders under the new system.
“This transition to e-GP is part of our commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in procurement,” the county stated.
Suppliers are expected to register for the session at the Procurement Office by Monday, 18th August 2025.
For inquiries, they may contact the office via 0714230404 or procurement@lamu.go.ke.
The county government emphasised that compliance with the directive is mandatory, underscoring its goal of ensuring all suppliers are fully integrated into the national electronic procurement framework.
