A transformative leadership initiative is calling on young Kenyans in Northern counties to apply for an empowering civic education program.

The Jukumu Letu Interventions, implemented by Northland Development Interventions Africa, is currently recruiting passionate youth aged 18-35 from Marsabit, Wajir, Isiolo, and Mandera counties to participate in its governance training initiative.

As explained by Jukumu Letu, the program specifically targets young individuals interested in understanding county government operations, particularly budget processes, and those aspiring to leadership roles at various levels.

Designed for community-minded youth, including boda boda riders, business owners, fresh graduates, and aspiring leaders, the initiative aims to equip participants with critical knowledge about public participation, transparency, and issue-based leadership.

Successful applicants will gain practical skills in civic education, enabling them to educate their communities about constitutional rights and responsibilities in governance.

The training covers essential aspects of county operations, budget-making processes, and legislative functions, with a focus on enhancing accountability and value for public resources.

Participants who complete the program will receive certificates of participation, recognizing their acquired expertise in governance matters.

The initiative emphasizes that civic engagement is not limited to specific professions but is open to all community members committed to creating positive change.

Prospective candidates from Marsabit County's Moyale Sub-County and surrounding regions are particularly encouraged to apply before the fast-approaching deadline.

The application process is conducted through an online form designed to assess candidates' backgrounds, motivations, and potential community impact.

This program comes at a critical time when youth engagement in governance processes is increasingly recognized as vital for sustainable development in Kenya's northern regions.

By empowering young leaders with knowledge and skills, Jukumu Letu aims to foster a new generation of informed citizens capable of driving accountability and inclusive governance at the county level.
