The Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) and The Action Foundation (TAF) have strengthened their joint efforts to advance inclusive and equitable education after undertaking an intensive capacity-building session hosted by UNICEF Kenya.

On Wednesday, the FCDC–TAF consortium spent seven hours at the UNICEF Kenya office participating in an in-depth online reporting training under the Last Mile Connectivity to Schools and Inclusive Quality Education Programme.

The session aimed to enhance the partners’ ability to generate high-quality, accurate, and impactful programme reports that support effective decision-making and accountability.

FCDC expressed deep appreciation to the Chief Education Officer and the entire UNICEF project team for their exceptional facilitation and warm hospitality.

The organisation noted that the trainers’ clarity, patience, and dedication made the engagement both insightful and empowering.

According to the consortium, the training has significantly strengthened their capacity to support ongoing efforts to connect underserved schools and ensure equitable access to digital learning, particularly for children in remote and marginalised regions.

“Asante sana to the UNICEF Kenya team for your unwavering support and partnership,” FCDC said in a statement.

“Together, we are bridging digital divides and ensuring no child is left behind.”

The Last Mile Connectivity to Schools and Inclusive Quality Education Programme continues to play a critical role in expanding digital learning infrastructure, improving reporting standards, and promoting inclusive education for all learners across Kenya’s frontier counties.
