Kenya has been named the world’s friendliest country in the 2025 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, earning global recognition for its warmth, hospitality, and welcoming spirit.

According to the travel magazine, Kenya topped the global ranking with an impressive score of 98.46%, outshining destinations from across the world in a closely contested list where all the top 10 countries scored above 96%.

The ranking celebrates the nations where visitors consistently experience exceptional friendliness, vibrant culture, and memorable hospitality.

Condé Nast Traveller noted that while Kenya’s “Big Five” wildlife and breathtaking safaris often take centre stage, it is the people who truly define the country’s charm.

From safari guides who make guests feel safe and inspired, to the lively energy of Nairobi’s nightlife and the serenity of the coastal resorts, Kenya’s diverse experiences are all bound together by genuine warmth and friendliness.

The publication also praised Kenya’s ability to make travellers feel at home, whether exploring the savannah plains, visiting local communities, or relaxing along the Indian Ocean’s white sandy beaches.

The recognition places Kenya firmly on the global tourism map as a destination where natural beauty meets human connection, a reflection of the country’s spirit of Harambee, meaning unity and working together.

This milestone underscores Kenya’s growing reputation as not only one of Africa’s top travel destinations but also one of the most welcoming places in the world.
