Kenya School of Government Hosts Somalia Officials for Transformative Leadership Training

The Kenya School of Government (KSG) has officially opened the Transformative Leadership and Institutional Development Course, bringing together senior officials from Somalia’s Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

The training marks a new milestone in regional cooperation between Kenya and Somalia, aimed at strengthening governance, leadership, and institutional capacity.

Present at the opening ceremony were Hon. Bashe Yusuf Ahmed, Chief Justice of the Federal Republic of Somalia; H.E. Hassan Moalim Mohamud, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs; Hon. Dr. Sulayman Mohamed Mohamud, Attorney General of Somalia; Hon. Abdullahi Ahmed Mohamed, Minister of Justice of the Federal Member State of Galmudug; H.E. Jibril Ibrahim Abdulle, Somalia’s Ambassador to Kenya; and Dr. Feisal Adan Hassan, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

The course is part of a long-term partnership between the Government of Kenya and the Government of Somalia, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing effective leadership and justice reform.

Through this collaboration, both nations are investing in the development of strong, transparent, and accountable institutions capable of delivering justice and public service efficiently.

The program is designed to equip participants with practical leadership skills and strategic insights for institutional transformation.

It also emphasizes values of integrity, accountability, and service as essential pillars for sustainable governance.

The Kenya School of Government noted that the partnership underscores the belief that transformative leadership and strong institutions form the foundation of peace, stability, and development across the Horn of Africa.

By building capacity within Somalia’s justice sector, the initiative seeks to foster resilient systems that promote trust and inspire confidence in public administration.
