A powerful call for child protection echoed through the streets of Moyale as leaders, partners, and community members joined hands to commemorate National Children's Service Month (1st–30th November 2025) under the theme “Enhancing Multi-Agency Collaboration and Increasing Budgetary Allocation to Combat Child Abuse.”
The event, hosted at the Moyale Law Court, brought together representatives from the Judiciary, law enforcement agencies, civil society organisations, and community groups in a colourful procession and dialogue focused on ending child abuse and strengthening child protection systems across the region.

Carrying banners and chanting messages of hope and justice, participants emphasised that protecting children is not the responsibility of one institution alone, but a shared duty that calls for partnership, accountability, and compassion.
“I want all children to be safe and happy like me, to play without fear,” said one young participant, capturing the spirit of the day as the march wound through Moyale Town.
The initiative, coordinated by Strategies for Northern Development (SND Africa) with support from Terre des Hommes Germany, Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), and the Kenya Judiciary, showcased the power of collective action in ensuring that every child grows up in a safe and nurturing environment.
Speakers at the event urged stakeholders to increase investments in child protection systems and strengthen inter-agency coordination to ensure cases of abuse are reported, investigated, and prosecuted effectively.
They also called for greater community involvement in early intervention and awareness efforts.
As the march concluded, the atmosphere was one of solidarity and renewed commitment to protecting children’s rights.
The message was clear: a community that stands for its children stands for its future.
