Samburu County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Veterinary Services, Moses Leluata, has been awarded the Best Performance in Service Delivery at the prestigious Jamhuri Kenya Awards.
The award, presented during the ceremony held last night, recognises exemplary leadership, innovation, and dedication in transforming service delivery within devolved units.
Leluata was honoured for his outstanding contributions toward strengthening agricultural systems, improving livestock productivity, and enhancing community resilience across Samburu County.
In his acceptance remarks, the CECM dedicated the award to the people of Samburu, noting that the recognition reflects their shared progress and determination.
“This award means more than recognition. It is a reminder of why we wake up every day to serve,” Leluata stated.
“It represents the hopes of our farmers, the dreams of our youth, and the resilience of the people of Samburu County who inspire me endlessly.”
He also acknowledged his team, colleagues, partners, and community members for their role in driving transformative change in the county’s agriculture and livestock sectors.
“To my team, colleagues, partners, and the communities across our county, this is our win,” he added.
Under Leluata’s leadership, Samburu’s agriculture and livestock department has implemented a range of initiatives aimed at improving food security, expanding market opportunities, and building climate-smart practices among pastoralist communities.
