Samburu County Government has announced the termination of all contracts for casual workers currently serving at the Samburu County Referral Hospital, effective July 31, 2025.

In an internal memo issued by County Secretary Wilson Lesuuda on July 29, the decision was attributed to persistent recommendations from the Senate, a formal resolution by the County Assembly of Samburu, and communications to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) from the Clerk of the County Assembly.

“All casual workers currently attached to the County Referral Hospital shall have their contracts terminated on 31st July, 2025,” read the memo.

The County Government has, however, assured all affected workers that verified salary arrears will be paid promptly upon the release of funds by the Controller of Budget.

Looking ahead, the memo noted that the process of regularizing contracts and initiating fresh recruitment will begin once the County Public Service Board grants approval.

This transition is expected to bring more structure and transparency to staffing at the county health facility.

Samburu County expressed appreciation for the workers’ service and directed any inquiries or concerns to the Human Resources Department.
